Book review of unfair advantages
How to use your resources to your advantage
What are the unfair advantages?
They use the acronym M.I.L.E.S. M for money, I for intelligence, and insight, L for location and luck, E for education and expertise, S for status.
M: money
This part highlights how some people use their money to their advantage. An example given in the book was that some people who want to start a startup have to go and find investors, but if you have enough money then you can invest in your own business. You can also have “money as a cushion” which is that even if your idea doesn’t end up working you will still have some money as a backup.
I: Intelligence, and Insight
This part of the book underlines how people used their intelligence to make big businesses. One business’s example told was stripe(a payment method such as Paypal). Their story is about how they used their book smarts to found stripe which made them billionaires.
